Taxes
The "Fair Tax" is a fair tax and must be passed into law, abolishing the IRS and its absurd tax code—which is so confusing that the head of the IRS doesn’t even do his own taxes.
The Fair Tax taxes Americans only on what they elect to spend, not on what they earn. It eliminates all federal income tax, both personal and corporate. It abolishes a complex and oppressive list of taxes, including gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes, replacing them all with a simple and fair federal retail sales tax.
Just one example from the list above, estate tax (often called the “Death Tax”), is double dipping at the expense of those who have work hard and paid income taxes all their lives, but have managed to set aside money so that their children can benefit. We must stop robbing the American people of the fruits of their labors and their legacy left to future generations. The Fair Tax does just that, while also ensuring the ability to fund Social Security and Medicare.
The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 296) is nonpartisan legislation that I support fully.
The federal deficit is astronomical because of the government overdrawing its account, not because Americans are under-taxed. Federal spending is out of control. We must eliminate deficit spending and live within our means with the Fair Tax.
